COVID-19 policy and precautions.

The safety of North Star’s clients is of utmost importance.

The threat of COVID-19 is ongoing; North Star has put policies and precautions in place to lessen the health and safety risks to our clients and staff. North Star offers online speech-language therapy as a way to limit in-person interactions and potential exposure. Additionally, North Star continues to offer in-person speech-language therapy in your home with precautions in place.

The following protections are in place for all in-person and in-home appointments:

  • North Star’s employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

  • The therapist must pass COVID-19 screening each day.

  • Families are asked to report whether or not eligible family members in the home are fully vaccinated (with the option to decline to share).

  • The therapist will wear a facial covering for the duration of the appointment whenever possible. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis depending on the child’s need for facial cues during the appointment.

  • Participating family members who are not vaccinated must wear facial covering for the duration of appointment. Exceptions may be made for siblings on a case-by-case basis.

  • Facial coverings my fully cover the nose and mouth. Facial coverings with vents and face shields in place of a mask are not permitted.

  • If a family believes that a therapist may have been exposed to COVID-19 in their home, they agree to alert North Star within one day.
