As your two-year-old begins to combine words to make short sentences, their play simultaneously becomes more complex.

Two-year-olds begin to develop turn-taking, problem solving, and pretend play skills through play. At this age, children build foundational academic skills as they develop motor skills to support writing and concept vocabulary to support reading and math.
