AAC Philosophy and Core Principles
AAC Philosophy and Core Principles includes all the background information you need to better understand how to support your clients who are AAC users. This course includes a discussion of the Communication Bill of Rights. SLPs can use the information learned from this course to better understand how to use neuroaffirming strategies to support their clients.

AAC for Individuals with Complex Needs
In this final module, SLPs will learn strategies for supporting individuals with a large variety of support needs, including vision loss, cortical visual impairment (CVI), hearing loss, gestalt language processing (GLP), autism, and sensory differences.

This course provides 4 hours of professional development toward your ASHA CCC. However, we are not registered with ASHA as CEU providers, so hours earned through this course will not be added to your ASHA CE Registry. By tracking your professional development hours yourself, you can apply the hours earned from this course to your professional develop requirements for ASHA. North Star is registered with the California Speech-Language Pathology Board as a Professional Development Provider. This course also provides asynchronous professional development toward the CA SLP license.
